MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Pacific prepares for home opener vs. Stanislaus State

STOCKTON — Damon Stoudamire figures it will take a little while for the Pacific Tigers to fully develop their personality.

And he knows what he wants that personality to be.

Stoudamire, who spent 13 seasons in the NBA as a guard, wants his teams to inherit his scrappy, aggressive attitude. He said this year’s team is still evolving, and the Tigers play host to Stanislaus State at 7 p.m. today in its home opener at Spanos Center.

Stoudamire is entering his third season as head coach, and sees the difference in his players.

“They haven’t taken on my personality like I want them to, but we’re starting to get there,” Stoudamire said.
