Local Roundup: Pacific volleyball beats San Francisco in five games

University of the Pacific’s volleyball team has become pretty good at winning five-set league matches on the road.

For the second time in as many matches, the Tigers went the distance and won, beating the San Francisco Dons 21-25, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 15-13 on Tuesday in San Francisco. The Tigers (10-4, 2-0 West Coast Conference) play their league home opener at 7 p.m. Thursday when they host BYU at Spanos Center.

With Ally Wada serving, Riley Patterson recorded her match-high 26th kill off an assist from Hanne De Schrijver to close out the night. Patterson also had 17 digs.
