Stockton Heat season ticket holders were encouraged by the latest update concerning the team’s lease situation with the Stockton Arena at a pre-game session on Saturday.
Before the Heat defeated the Bakersfield Condors 7-3, head coach Cail MacLean and CEO Brian Petrovek answered questions and credited players for starting the season strong. Petrovek shared that team officials met with City of Stockton leaders on Nov. 19 while an amendment was being written to extend the Heat’s current lease for another year. Both sides say they want a long-term deal, but need to agree on terms.
The Heat and City of Stockton will meet again Monday.
