Coming off a gutsy 1-0 victory over Turlock in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs, the Bear Creek High softball team had its work cut out for it on the road Wednesday against top-seeded Whitney.
The eighth-seeded Bruins (25-4) generated six hits as they ended their season with a 13-3 loss in five inningsloss to the No. 1 Wildcats (23-5) in the second round of the section playoffs.
Ashley Honorio and Logan Asia each went 2 for 3, and Shelby Shanks hit a two-run single in the third inning to lead Bear Creek.
