Long Beach, Calif. - Firing off a pair of rounds in the 60s on day one in Southern California, junior Geoff Fry put himself in position to make a run at the Del Walker Intercollegiate individual title during the final 18 holes of play. Fry muscled his way to contention and into the top-3 at the tournament after the first 36 holes of play with rounds of 69 and 68, putting the junior at -3 overall and within reach of the tournament's overall leader at the end of the day, Long Beach State's Michael Chen.
