STOCKTON – Friends, coaches and teammates remember Tristan Hill as a good and decent person who is gone far too soon.
Hill, who played basketball at Delta College late last decade, was one of five people killed in a helicopter crash on Sunday in New York. The helicopter plunged into the East River, and the pilot was the only survivor.
Hill’s passing is being mourned by many, including his old teammates at Delta. He played with the Mustangs from 2007-09, and his sophomore team – nicknamed “The D Squad” – advanced to the state Final Four.
“He was one of my best friends, and it’s hard to describe how this feels,” said Anthony Simi, who was a guard on that team.
