STOCKTON – This is the 13th time Gina Johnson has led the Delta College women’s basketball team into the state tournament.
And this time, they enter as the hottest, and top ranked, team in California.
The No. 1 Mustangs bring their brand of balanced teamwork and a 22-game winning streak into the CCCAA State Basketball Championships at West Hills College in Lemoore. Delta opens the tourney at 7 p.m. against Palomar, the No. 4 seed from the South.
The trip to states will also be different for another reason.
