STOCKTON – It certainly wasn’t the smoothest journey, but the Delta College baseball team is exactly where it expected to be.
The Mustangs have qualified for the CCCAA State Championships for the sixth time in nine years, and will try to win their first state crown since 2011 at 6 p.m. today when they meet Mt. San Antonio at Fresno City College. Delta (40-8) is the top seed from the Northern Region and survived a tough series with Ohlone to get back to the state tourney.
There’s pressure on the Mustangs to make it this far every year, but its pressure they welcome.
