The Delta College baseball team scored seven runs in the fourth inning and six runs in the sixth inning on the way to an overwhelming 16-7 victory over Folsom Lake on Tuesday at Nick Cecchetti Field.
The defending state champion Mustangs, now ranked second in Northern California behind Sierra, are 23-6 overall and 9-4 in the Big 8 Conference. Folsom Lake dropped to 14-13, 4-9.
Delta had 12 hits, while Folsom Lake had 14. Jimmy McClenaghan went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBI, Vinny Bologna was 2 for 5 with three RBI, Zack Mathis was 2 for 4 with two doubles and an RBI, Tison Corio was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Dillion Tatum hit a three-run home run and had four RBI for the day.
