It’s been a long week of practice for the Delta baseball team.
To be fair, it’s been a long season. The Mustangs are nearly five months, 46 games and countless workouts in, with some innings still left to play.
They’re anxious, and with good reason.
Delta opens play in the California Community College Athletic Association Championships today with an 11 a.m. contest against El Camino at Fresno City College. The defending champion Mustangs have three teams standing in the way of a repeat title, and three days of double-elimination baseball left in the season.
Weather permitting, the state championship is set for 11 a.
