Recently graduated Pacific Tiger pitcher Cooper Casad signed a minor league free agent deal with the San Francisco Giants today.

Casad is the second Tiger to go pro this year and the 87th in the program history to sign a minor league deal. He will join Gio Bursa, who currently is playing with High A San Jose, as the second Tiger to be a current member of the Giants organization.

The right-handed pitcher threw in 15 games last year and started in nine while posting a 3-6 record with a 4.29 ERA. Casad began the season in the bullpen for the Tigers, but moved to the rotation on March 31 against Loyola Marymount in which he earned the win after throwing five innings and striking out five batters.
