Stockton, Calif. - The West Coast Conference announced Gio Brusa as the winner of the Rawlings Baseball Player of the Week for April 18, 2016 today. It was the first WCC Player of the Week win of the season for the Tigers.
Brusa led Pacific to a 4-0 week that has helped the team build a season-best five-game winning streak. He hit a homerun against Fresno State on Tuesday to start the week and would end up with four extra-base hits in the four games, with one double and three homeruns. The three homers have helped Brusa double his previous career high for a single season of four homers, as Brusa has now hit eight this year and is second in the WCC in homeruns behind teammate Danny Mayer.
