Stanford head coach David Shaw knows what he wants his team to be. But he doesn’t know what they are. At least not yet, anyway.
We’re three weeks into the 2016 college football season, but Shaw only has 60 minutes of evaluation to work with. After beating Kansas State 26-13 in the season opener, the Cardinal went right into their only bye week of the season. One week, Shaw says, is not enough time to get a sense for his team’s identity.
“Definitely not,” Shaw said. “We started down a path. I think we have an idea of what we’re capable of.
