STANFORD, Calif. -- Many expected this game to be a high-scoring clash of contrasting offensive styles, and it didn't disappoint. Stanford plowed forward for much of the game with methodical efficiency, while Oregon launched an explosive offensive barrage.
But the Cardinal blinked three critical times in the fourth quarter, fumbling two snaps during the stretch run. The Ducks capitalized, and they then survived Stanford's last-second barrage when Joe Walker broke up Kevin Hogan's two-point conversion attempt to Austin Hooper.
Final score: Oregon 38, Stanford 36.
Oregon ripped of 9.1 yards per play behind a gashing rushing attack and pristine passing performance from Vernon Adams, Jr.
