With Phillips sidelined, Cameron gives Turris an 'A'

BUFFALO - The Senators have always expected Kyle Turris to be a leader.

They're giving him a letter to make it official.

As the Senators prepare to open the season Thursday against the Buffalo Sabres at the First Niagara Center, coach Dave Cameron confirmed the 'A' normally worn by injured blueliner Chris Phillips will be sewn on the 26-year-old Turris' sweater and will stay there for the foreseeable future.

Captain Erik Karlsson will, of course, remain in his role and Chris Neil will retain an 'A'. Through training camp and last season when Phillips was injured, Cameron decided to float the letter around and give different guys the opportunity to wear it.
