And yet one year later, the Ottawa Senators are wrapping up training camp facing exactly the same tricky question they never adequately answered last October: Who will replace concussed left winger Clarke MacArthur?
“The idea right now is to see how we can fill that hole by relaying one guy after the other,” coach Guy Boucher said following the club’s off-ice workout Saturday morning.
The options include the speedy Ryan Dzingel, the multi-purpose Zack Smith, the surprising Phil Varone and the enigmatic Matt Puempel.
