Paul Byron was denied a chance to play for his new team in his hometown Sunday, but the decision was a tough one for his coach.
Addressing the media before his Habs took the ice to face the Senators in their home opener, Michel Therrien passionately explained why he left Byron -- an Ottawa native plucked off waivers from the Flames when Zach Kassian was put into a substance abuse program -- off the roster.
"He's not in (the lineup) and it's breaking my heart because he's a kid (and) I heard a lot of good things (about him)," he said, conjuring up memories of an interview two seasons ago when, regarding a Brian Gionta injury that would keep him out of the Montreal lineup injury, Therrien explained that "our captain was crying in my arms" over the news.
