Senators' Ryan living up to fat pay cheque these playoffs

BOSTON — Throughout his turbulent, inconsistent, injury-marred 2016-17 regular season, Bobby Ryan was usually able to maintain his sense of humour, to laugh at himself when the criticism was raining down on him.

Even after scoring the first overtime goal of his NHL career Monday, to give the Senators a 4-3 victory over the Boston Bruins and a 2-1 lead in the first-round series, he poked fun at himself.

Asked if he was feeling better on the ice than at any point all year, Ryan didn't miss a beat.
