Senators' Phaneuf caps off dramatic Game 2 comeback with OT goal

OTTAWA — The Ottawa Senators knew they had to win and they pulled it off in style.

Just when the picture looked grim, the Senators erased a two-goal third period deficit and left home ice with a 1-1 split in the opening two games of their best-of-seven Round 1 series with a dramatic 4-3 OT victory over the Boston Bruins Saturday afternoon in front of 18,629 at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Dion Phaneuf scored at 1:59 of overtime to give the Senators the pivotal victory and the crowd went crazy.

Derick Brassard and Chris Wideman scored on third period efforts to send this one to OT while Clarke MacArthur also scored on Boston goalie Tuukka Rask during regulation.
