After scoring seven goals in each of their past two games against the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins, the Ottawa Senators then allowed in seven goals to the Chicago Blackhawks to earn a loss in their last game on Tuesday night.
It was then time for the Senators to host the Calgary Flames to conclude October. Against the worst team in the NHL at home, the Senators' effort was valiant enough to earn a win.
The Senators defeated the Flames 4-3 in a shootout at Canadian Tire Centre. With the win, the Senators improved to 6-5-1 overall on the season.
