Thursday night was the Ottawa Senators' final game of October. The Senators finished the month with a 4-3 shootout win to the Calgary Flames at home. It was then time to get ready for the first November game against the Montreal Canadiens.
Last season, the Senators didn't fare well against the Canadiens with losing three of the four games. In a new season to turn the tables, it once looked like a rally for the Senators, but then it was gone.
The Canadiens defeated the Senators 4-3 in overtime at Bell Centre. With the loss, the Senators fell to 6-5-2 overall on the season.
