On Thursday night, the Ottawa Senators started their four-game home stand off big with a 4-3 shootout win against the Seattle Kraken. Next, it was time for an afternoon clash against the New York Islanders.
Last season, the Islanders won two of the three games against the Senators to take the season series. Both of the wins the Islanders earned were in Ottawa. With a new season to turn the tables with hosting the Islanders, one bad period hurt the Senators in the end.
The Islanders defeated the Senators 5-4 at Canadian Tire Centre. With the loss, the Senators fell to 2-4-0 on the season, and have now lost four of their last five games.
