Despite being on the wrong side of lopsided shot clocks, the Philadelphia Flyers and Vancouver Canucks pulled through to knot up their respective second-round playoff series. Let’s go over how they did it.

Philadelphia Flyers 5, New York Islanders 4 (2OT), Series tied 3-3

As mentioned before, the shots were well in favour of the Islanders in this game; 53-31 to be exact. Despite the uphill battle, the score was rather back-and-forth, with the Flyers going up 2-0 early on, only to blow that lead early in the second period, and a poorly timed challenge by Alain Vigneault resulted in the Islanders taking the lead shortly after.
