Ottawa's top sports stories for 2015

There was plenty to cheer about around the region for sports fans in 2015.

The RedBlacks and Fury FC made their respective championship games, the Carleton Ravens won another men’s basketball title, the Senators staged a wild rally to make the playoffs, the 67’s returned to the post-season and the Carleton Place Canadians advanced to the national junior-A hockey final.

Individually, athletes such as alpine skier Dustin Cook, golfer Brooke Henderson, speed skater Ivanie Blondin and runner Melissa Bishop either won or reached the podium at world-class events.

Narrowing it down to the top 10 stories on the local sports scene wasn’t easy.
