The Senators have lost one of their top wingers indefinitely after he broke a finger on his right hand blocking a shot in the second period of the club’s 5-2 loss to the New York Islanders Friday night. It’s the same hand he broke a finger on last month and missed 16 games.
Losing Michalek is a huge blow and he won’t be back anytime soon.
Right now, there’s no timetable for Michalek’s return because club officials are waiting to find out if he’s going to need surgery.
