Ottawa Senators taking no chances with injured Clarke MacArthur

The optimist in Clarke MacArthur was musing Thursday about potentially re-joining the Ottawa Senators lineup for the club’s California road trip in early December.

Yet while MacArthur continues to skate regularly with the team, he’s still wearing a “no contact” blue jersey. The team is taking no chances on a premature return, given that MacArthur has had four documented concussions in the past 21 months.

He hasn’t taken part in full drills since Sept. 25, when he was knocked out of the club’s training camp intrasqaud game following a high hit from defenceman Patrick Sieloff.

MacArthur says his head is clear until he ramps up to the highest level.
