Ottawa Senators in good spot at key time

GLENDALE, ARIZ. - Three weeks ago, Carolina Hurricanes coach Bill Peters referred to U.S. Thanksgiving as "the line in the sand" for NHL teams with playoff aspirations.

On Thursday, as the Senators spent the American holiday in a city once covered by desert, they sure liked where they were standing.

"As a team we're really happy where we are right now," assistant GM Pierre Dorion said in Glendale, where the Senators will try to sweep a three-game road trip when they face the Arizona Coyotes Saturday night. "I think this is our best start since '07-08. We're sixth (overall) in the league in points.
