CHICAGO — Pierre Dorion decided not to do any Christmas shopping as the NHL’s holiday roster freeze went into effect at midnight Tuesday.
Instead, the Senators general manager is going to wait.
Sitting in second place in the Atlantic Division and in a playoff position after back-to-back victories over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday and New York Islanders on Sunday, the Senators are preparing to close out this road swing against the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday night at the United Center.
While Dorion has insisted he’d like to add some forward depth, ideally he’d like to wait to see what happens with injured winger Clarke MacArthur before making any kind of determination what route the organization is going to take to help strengthen its roster up front.
