When MacArthur wasn’t cleared to play at the start of the season there was always the concern that he wouldn’t ever return. However, there was always hope that he could join the Ottawa Senators again at some point. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that will be the case as it has come out that he will likely retire.

This new development on Clarke MacArthur came very quickly. Earlier this morning, Pierre Dorion said that he was doubtful that Clarke MacArthur would return to play in the NHL. However, at that point it was all speculation and nothing else.
