Matt O'Connor appreciates talent.
After going to the NCAA Frozen Four tournament with the Boston University Terriers before losing in the final, the Senators new goaltender certainly believed it helped his developement to have top-ranked forward Jack Eichel as a teammmate and an opponent in practice.
While all the hype in this year's NHL entry draft has surrounded forward Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters going No. 1 overall to the Edmonton Oilers, Eichel is headed to the Buffalo Sabres with the No. 2 selection and O'Connor believes that he's got pretty special skills as well.
"I had an unbelieveable team this year," said O'Connor.
