Max McCormick will always remember his brush with greatness during his NHL debut Saturday. Specifically, his face-to-face meeting with Arizona Coyotes forward Shane Doan, a 20-year veteran who is widely considered to be the nicest guy in the league.
"I lined up against him in the third period at centre ice on the face-off, and he asked me 'is it your first game buddy?'" McCormick recalled Tuesday. "I go, yeah, and he goes 'congrats.'
"That was pretty cool for me, for someone like him to even talk to me, to reach out and say congrats. That was a pretty special moment for me in my first game.
