News Release: Ottawa Senators name Kristopher Young video coach

OTTAWA – Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion announced today the hiring of Kristopher Young as video coach.

Young, 40, joins Ottawa’s coaching staff composed of head coach Guy Boucher, associate coach Marc Crawford, assistant coach Rob Cookson and goaltending coach Pierre Groulx.

A native of South Porcupine, Ont., Young worked most recently for the Ontario Hockey League’s Hamilton Bulldogs where he served as video coach and director of marketing. As video coach, he was responsible for analytical research coordination pertaining to the Bulldogs while assisting with the pre-scout of their opponents.

In conjunction with his time at the Bulldogs, Young has also served as video coach for Hockey Canada’s National Women’s Teams since 2011 and helped Team Canada earn a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, in addition to winning a silver medal at the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship in Ottawa.
