And no one illustrates this better than Bryan Murray, 71, of Shawville, Que., who has doctors' and family clearance along with the desire to stay on as GM of the Senators. Battling Stage 4 colon cancer, Murray told reporters at his end of the year news conference Wednesday he has no plans to retire.
"I'm keeping going. I've talked to the doctors, I've talked to my family, I talked to ownership and if my health holds up and everything I feel I can keep doing this job and it's better than sitting on the couch at home," said Murray.
