Mark Borowiecki of Ottawa Senators leaves game with facial laceration

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Mark Borowiecki left the Ottawa Senators' 4-2 loss to Columbus on Saturday with a facial cut that left a pool of blood on the ice.

The team said Borowiecki had an upper-body injury. He did not return to the game.

Borowiecki's feet and stick got tangled with those of Columbus' Brandon Saad while the two battled for possession near the boards by Ottawa's goal. After Saad took possession, Borowiecki's momentum caused him to lose his balance and careen face first into the board.

After slamming to a stop, Borowiecki was motionless for roughly two minutes.
