MacArthur faces uncertain future with season over

TORONTO - The image of Senators’ winger Clarke MacArthur lying on the ice at the Canadian Tire Centre during a Sunday morning training camp scrimmage in September will be etched in the mind.

The months of hard work all gone in one foul swoop.

As he was helped off the ice by his teammates — including his best friend Dion Phaneuf — you couldn’t help but sense the hit from defenceman Patrick Sieloff on a day that was supposed to celebrate the return of hockey would mean the 31-year-old MacArthur may never get the chance to play again.
