They were 21 names on a press release on a cloudy Monday morning in Ottawa, all had been assigned to the club's AHL affiliate in Binghamton, listed in alphabetical order and only by name.
A couple of days later, on a similar Wednesday, seven more names in camp were given their walking papers in an announcement by the club. There will be final cuts of one or two players Monday or Tuesday and then the season will begin.
All those players will be gone, and not forgotten, but each one of them has a story to tell.
