SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I — The Ottawa Senators sure know how to spoil a party.
On a night the Senators were supposed to help celebrate everything great about the NHL by bringing hockey to a small town as part of the annual Kraft Hockeyville game, they were pretty much a no show in a 8-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils Monday at Credit Union Place.
No, this won’t matter a week from now, but it’s going to make a big difference to the players who are battling for jobs as training camp enters its final stages with only two exhibition games left and if this was the final audition for some of these players then they didn’t go out on a high note.
