As reporters stood outside the visitors' dressing room at BB&T Center waiting to speak with players following Tuesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Florida Panthers, longtime broadcaster Gord Wilson aptly summed up the situation from an Ottawa perspective.
"Start the car," Wilson said.
Indeed, the Senators had stolen a point and it was time for them to make a run for not just the border, but the Christmas break.
"Yeah, we spent a little too much time here in South Florida ... too much sun," said goalie Craig Anderson, playing along with the joke. "To get out with a point, with the way things kind of played out, you've got to be happy with that.
