Alouettes land former Redblacks receiver Jackson

It wasn’t easy for the Ottawa Redblacks to move on from Ernest Jackson, or for Ernest Jackson to move on from the team he had such success with for two seasons.

The 30-year-old slotback found a new home on Thursday, agreeing to a two-year deal (his salary in Year 1 is reportedly $217,000) in Montreal.

“At first, I thought we might get something done, but it became obvious that wasn’t going to happen,” said Jackson on his way to Montreal late Thursday afternoon. “It’s just part of the business.

“It’s definitely tough saying goodbye, I played with a great group of guys.
