Bryan Murray said Wednesday he intends to return as general manager of the Ottawa Senators next season.
"If health holds up I think I can continue to do this job," he said during the Senators' final media availability of the season. "It's better than sitting on the couch."
Murray, 72, announced Nov. 13, 2014 that he has Stage 4 colon cancer. The cancer has since spread to Murray's liver and lungs. He has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment but has said there is no cure for his cancer.
He has been with the Senators since 2004, when he was hired as coach.
