Plaintiff in concussion lawsuit vs. NCAA opposes settlement (Yahoo Sports)

The lead plaintiff in a concussion lawsuit against the NCAA opposes a proposed settlement in the case.

In a statement released Tuesday through the National College Players Association, former Eastern Illinois football player Adrian Arrington says the deal is unacceptable and that he never agreed to the settlement being considered by U.S. District Judge John Lee in Chicago.

Arrington says the first time he learned about the deal was through the media and he is seeking new legal representation.

Joseph Siprut, co-lead counsel in the class action lawsuit, says he is disappointed Arrington has decided to withdraw his support and he remains optimistic the court will approve the settlement.
