John Bowlen placed on leave by Broncos after domestic violence arrest

John Bowlen, the 29-year-old son of Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, has been placed on indefinite leave after a domestic violence arrest Wednesday night.

Records show Bowlen is being held on suspicion of third-degree assault and harassment, which are both Class 3 misdemeanors.

TMZ reports that the victim alleges John was under the influence of whippets (nitrous oxide) and alcohol. He is accused of slamming the victim, whom he has dated for 10 months, against a wall.

The team placed Bowlen on leave in accordance with the league’s domestic violence policy.

“We are disappointed to learn of the matter involving John Bowlen, who is a son of owner Pat Bowlen and an administrative employee with the organization.
