This will go down as one of the stranger games of the season. The Mets held a 7-1 lead after six innings. This advantage was dropped to two runs after Derek Norris hit a grand slam in the seventh inning. And then the ninth inning happened. Mets closer Jeurys Familia recorded the first two outs of the inning easily enough, at which point, a string of storms hit and delayed the game for 44 minutes. You can probably guess what happened next. Familia returned to the game after the long delay, allowed two singles, then served up a three-run homer to Upton to give the Padres an 8-7 lead.
