ORLANDO – Up one with 16.9 seconds to play, the Detroit Pistons got four free throws from Lorenzo Brown and Tekele Cotton and forced Orlando Magic Blue into an untimely turnover to pave the way for a 73-68 win in third-day action in the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer league action.
Detroit (2-0) won despite shooting just 29.5 percent from the floor and having to weather poor games from Stanley Johnson (two of 14, eight points) and rookie Henry Ellenson (two of 11, 10 points). The Pistons made 36 of 40 free throws, including their last 10 in a row to break open a close game against the Magic’s Blue squad.
