Moritz Wagner provided Magic with frontcourt depth, passion for the game

Top game: May 1 vs. Grizzlies — 24 points (8-for-15 shooting, 4-for-6 on 3s), 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 0 turnovers, 18.0 Game Score

The buzz: The Magic signed Wagner on April 27 after he was waived by the Celtics to add frontcourt depth, and the transaction proved to be a fortuitous one. Wagner almost immediately moved into the starting power forward spot — even though center is his natural position — after Chuma Okeke sprained his ankle and was essentially shut down for the season. Wagner’s first start was mostly forgettable as he missed all seven of his field-goal attempts.
