Elfrid Payton has spent much of his offseason working on improving his shot.
Payton has partnered with Dave Love, the independent shooting coach whom the Orlando Magic hired last year to tutor combo forward Aaron Gordon. Gordon made so much progress that Payton, already one of the most diligent workers on the Magic roster, was happy to start working with Love, too.
"We've been getting a lot of shots up — different scenarios, different types of plays," Payton said. "So we'll wait to see if it transfers and translates to the court.
