The Orlando Magic’s chances of reaching the postseason play-in tournament have been hanging by a thread for weeks, but they’re now on the verge of breaking loose.
A six-game losing streak has pushed the Magic to the bottom of the Eastern Conference and they trail the 10th-place Wizards, who hold the final play-in spot, by nine games as of Tuesday.
Acting coach Tyrone Corbin said after Monday’s 114-103 loss to the Lakers that he wants the Magic to “fight every minute we’re on the floor.” He said players always have something to play for, regardless of a team’s position in the standings.
