Scottie Barnes said Saturday he would be elated to have an opportunity to continue his basketball playing career with an NBA team in Florida.
The former Montverde Academy star, who grew up in West Palm Beach and attended Forth Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons and Davis University School prior to attending Montverde, went through a pre-NBA draft workout with the Orlando Magic on Saturday and he talked about his possible opportunities.
“It would mean a lot, just me growing up in Florida, being able to know a lot of people that’s right around the corner and it’s basically like home, just two hours away from West Palm Beach,” said Barnes, who also played college basketball in his home state at Florida State.
