Elfrid Payton Becomes Franchise Leader in Triple-Doubles

ORLANDO – Maybe it’s only fitting that the Orlando Magic record for triple-doubles in a career comes in a season when there have never been more triple-doubles in NBA history.

When Elfrid Payton notched his first triple-double of the season on Monday, it gave him four in his three-year NBA career. That moved the point guard into first place in franchise history in that category – one more than the three that former forward Hedo Turkoglu compiled in the 2007-08 and 2010-11 seasons.

``Yeah, it’s kind of cool,’’ Payton said of being the franchise leader.
