As Magic open camp, Mo Bamba and Al-Farouq Aminu face early restrictions

Magic coach Steve Clifford said Tuesday forward Al-Farouq Aminu and center Mo Bamba will be held out of contact activities when team workouts begin as expected on Friday. NBA training camps opened with individual player workouts as teams administer COVID-19 testing before group practices can begin as part of the league’s protocols.

Aminu is still dealing with the knee injury that limited him to 18 games last season, while Bamba hasn’t fully recovered from his bout with COVID-19 in June. Both are key reserves for Clifford, with Aminu set to back up Aaron Gordon and Bamba to back up Nikola Vucevic.
